What does The Jane serve?

The Jane handles a gastronomic kitchen with influences from Zeeland, Asia and the Mediterranean. Our signature is the use of citrus, vegetables and seasonal fresh products.

Does The Jane serve a lunch menu?

We serve 1 fixed tasting menu, this both for lunch and dinner.

I have an allergy/diet wish.

In our restaurant we serve 1 fixed tasting menu, this both for lunch and dinner.

Every dish consists of a variety of different products and ingredients with a crucial value for the signature kitchen of The Jane.

In our menu we mainly us fish and shellfish. If you have an allergy for this or preference not to eat these, we will serve you an almost fully vegetarian menu.

Do you have a diet wish or allergy? Contact us in time, then we will look if and how we can accommodate it.

Due to the composition of our menu, we cannot consider following diet wishes:

  • Vegan
  • Gluten free (due to the use of soy sauce)
  • Lactose free (due to the use of butter)
  • Eggs
  • Mushrooms (processed in our stocks)
  • Spinach
  • Citrus fruits
  • Vinegar
  • Rosemary 
  • Garlic, onion, celery, leek (processed in our stocks)

If you communicate a diet wish or allergy in the restaurant, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate it. If the impact of the request limited and we can adjust, we will charge an extra fee of €30,00 per person.

When is The Jane open?

OPENING HOURS

Lunch from Friday until Sunday.

Dinner from Thursday until Sunday.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and lunch on Thursday are our fixed closing days.

We are happy to welcome you at 2 moments, for lunch at 12:00 and 12:30 and for dinner at 18:30 and 19:00.

How do I make a reservation? What is the reservation term?

For the restaurant, you can make a reservation up to three months in advance. This reservation period shifts per day for exactly three months later. The new available date will be released online as of 8 a.m. For reservations up to 5 persons you can only book online, click here to do so.

The availability online is always accurate and real-time.

Is it possible to book outside the reservation term?

The reservation term for the restaurant is three months. The bookable dates are indicated on the calendar at the booking website.

Exceptions will NOT be made, any requests outside the reservation term will therefore not be handled.

I want to book for 6 or more persons in The Jane.

You can send a reservation request for 6 up to 12 persons via contact@thejaneantwerp.com.

We also take our reservation period of 3 months into account for group bookings.

How do I book online?

Via the menu, go to reservations. Select what it is you want to book and the calendar overview will appear with the availability. When a date is possible to book you click on it after which you can fill out the reservation form. Please note your reservation is only confirmed when you filled out the complete form and you have also received a confirmation by email with a reservation number. Follow the instructions as mentioned in the confirmation email.

As a guarantee of your reservation, we kindly ask an authorization of 150 EUR per person for the restaurant on your credit card. We will ask your credit card details via a reconfirmation email. This amount will be ‘frozen’ on your credit card, after your visit to our restaurant this amount will be released.

A confirmation mail will also be sent when you register yourself on the waiting list.

Can I park my car at The Jane?

 

We would like to inform you that you can reserve a parking spot in our private parking garage, our garage is located about 5 minutes walking distance from the restaurant.

A parking space costs €12, this cost will be added to your bill in the restaurant.

You can add a parking space when making a reservation online, after you can request this via e-mail: contact@thejaneantwerp.com.

We would like to inform you that there is also a Q-park parking garage located 10 minutes walking from the restaurant, for more information you can check their website: https://www.q-park.be/en-gb/cities/antwerp/berchem-station/

Of course, you can also park in the surrounding streets of the restaurant, payment can be made through a parking meter.

 

Credit Card authorization

We would like to inform you that you will receive an e-mail to reconfirm your reservation, this 2 weeks prior to your visit.

With this reconfirmation, we will ask an authorization on your credit card (€150,00 per person).

This amount will only be frozen on your account, not charged. After your visit the authorization will be released automatically, this will not be deducted from the bill in the restaurant.

If you do not cancel or cancel late, we will charge the guarantee on your credit card for the costs we have made. 

 

I am still not able to make a reservation after trying a few times.

The amount of requests is so overwhelming that we are fully booked within minutes. The amount of visitors on the website is especially very high when a weekend evening is released. Still, every day gets fully booked by online reservations. We therefore advise you to keep trying.

When a date is fully booked, but you see a circle with “an hourglass” it is possible to add yourself to the waiting list. If a table becomes available for you we will contact you ourselves.

How do I use the calendar on the booking page?

On the calendar you will see following icons.

– Green Circle: please note your reservation is only confirmed when you filled out the complete form and you have also received a confirmation by email with a reservation number.

– Circle with” hourglass”: the date is fully booked but you still can add yourself to the waiting list.

– Circle with “x”: the date is fully booked and waiting list is closed due to the high amount of registrations or the restaurant is exclusively reserved for an event.

– Circle with “i”: you cannot book more than 3 months in advance or the restaurant is closed due to holiday.

I clicked on the date while it was available, still I am registered on the waiting list.

The high amount of visitors on the website at 8 a.m., especially during the weekend is overwhelming. This causes a lot of people doing the same actions at the same time. That’s why the availability is checked several times during the process and then it could be that the restaurant is fully booked already. If that should happen to you it is only possible to register yourself on the waiting list.

How does the waiting list work?

When the date is indicated as a circle with “hourglass”, you have the possibility to register yourself on the waiting list.

Adding yourself to the waiting list is optional but not a guarantee. It offers a chance when a table becomes available again. When this happens we will contact you ourselves. As we rely on cancellations, we cannot indicate if or when you will be contacted. When you don’t receive a message, changes have not occurred.

It is possible and allowed to register for more than one date.

If you do not receive a confirmation of your reservation within 10 minutes, please check your SPAM. Your provider might select automatic sent emails to be sent to the SPAM. When the confirmation is also not found here, please contact us by phone on +32 (0)3 808 44 65.

Is it possible to access The Jane with a wheelchair?

The restaurant has an elevator and is therefore accessible for wheelchairs.

Do inform us in advance when arriving with a wheelchair for us to assign a suitable table.

Due to the height of the bar kitchen, the bar is less suitable for wheelchairs.

Are dogs allowed?

In the restaurant small dogs (up to 5 kilo) are allowed.

Do inform us in advance of the presence of a small dog, for us to assign a suitable table.

In the bar dogs are not allowed.

Can I buy a gift certificate for The Jane?

Due to the overwhelming success of the sale of our gift vouchers, we have decided to temporarily stop the sale of these.

We have made this decision because of the combination of the high number of requests and ordered vouchers that have not yet been able to be used for a reservation.

This means that our vouchers are not available for an indefinite period of time.
