From the moment they enter until they leave, each guest is immersed in a unique setting and influenced by the food, the drinks, the music, the interior. In short, we strive to give each guest an experience they won't soon forget.

With about 40 employees, The Jane operates with a business structure that requires overall organization and stability. This isn't always obvious, specially since we require the absolute best from our whole team. A high level of service and an intense work pace are essential to reach our general objectives and push The Jane to the next level.

Your Responsibilities:

You will take the honors at the reception of the restaurant. As hostess you'll be responisble for the first contact with the restaurant guests, you will show them around and provide a professional yet warm and caring point of contact during their visit. You are the most important contact person, since you're the first and last one to leave an impression on our guests. A perfect hygiene of the reception area, the right atmosphere through candles, music, temperature, ... are your responsibility.

Your profile:

  • Recently graduated or already a first work experience

HIGH LEVEL RESTAURANT MANAGER

As our restaurant manager you are responsible for everything concerning front of house and are closely involved with all other departments within The Jane and untitled. You pursue a perfect service and are therefore in close contact with your colleagues from the kitchen and our guests. Communication with the kitchen and guest contact are important. During service, you have an active role between the different teams in order to coach the workflow optimally. You ensure efficiency and take care of things that are not going well with the right people. You will also provide the necessary workshops and trainings for the team.

Bookings are managed by our reservations department, however you keep a close eye on the guest list. You will have some administrative tasks, such as workforce scheduling, recruitment and financial monitoring. Together with Nick and his teams you will also develop new projects and ensure the optimal operational functioning of the company through good communication.

Your profile:

This position requires you to have sufficient technical knowledge to manage and organise the front of house. Therefore, we are looking for someone with professional pride, a great eye for detail and a feeling for hospitality. On top of that:

To provide a unique experience to our guests at The Jane, a Front-of-House team of 14 passionate friends takes care of a professional, yet playful and dynamic service every day. We are looking for new team players to strengthen our first class team and uphold our high level service and experience. At The Jane Antwerp, we offer the opportunity to put your experience to use and share it with others. Because of the size of our team you get the opportunity to choose for an all-round function or to focus on a certain aspect within the restaurant. EXPEDITEUR/ANNONCEUR

To provide a unique experience to our guests at The Jane, a Front-of-House team of 14 passionate friends takes care of a professional, yet playful and dynamic service every day. Expeditors make sure the orders are being well timed cooked, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the dishes are prepared, servers run food to the table while it's warm and ready. They need an excellent sense of time management, organization, situational awareness, problem solving and unwavering calm despite circumstances.

VIRGIN SOMMELIER

As our Virgin Sommelier, you will work closely with our Sommelier Trésor Vets and be responsible for various aspects of our ‘The Jane drinks experience’. This includes the classic hot and cold beverages but also helping in curating the non-alcoholic beverages. You will provide a professional, yet playful and dynamic service. You support the entire team and guarantee the unique experience we want to bring our guests.

Your profile:

  • You are a versatile team player and contribute to a good work atmosphere.
  • You have (some) experience as barista.
  • A Barista/ WSET certificate and/or relevant education (e.g. restaurant management) is a plus.
  • You are well aware that your appearance is a representation of the entire business. Therefore you always present yourself well-groomed.

As chef de partie, you are responsible for your own partie (hot or cold side) in the kitchen. You have a leadership position, but are also part of the overall team. You will be involved in the preparation of dishes on a daily basis. If you are ready for it, Nick and his chefs are always open to creative input. Together, you can make sure you have the most complete experience possible. During your service in the kitchen, you will be responsible for the work in your partie and follow the guidelines of the chef.

PRODUCTION CHEF

As our production chef you work closely with both your kitchen and front of house colleagues. You increase the quality and continuity in the kitchen by optimizing workflows. At the same time, your efficiency lowers the pressure within the team.

  • Managing the cold room and storage
  • Verifying and managing the product quality
  • Following safety and HACCP measures

FLOOR MANAGER

Recently, we've opened our brand-new bar concept untitled. at the first floor of The Jane Antwerp. The signature of The Jane's head chef Nick Bril merges with Joeri Timmermans, chef of untitled. The result is a playful and rustic menu. untitled. stands for a more daring and younger menu with a playful, dynamic but professional service.

We are currently looking for a colleague to guide, support and strengthen our front of house team. With your experience and leadership, you guarantee a perfect service. As untitled.'s floor manager, you are responsible for the daily flow, and you are the contact for both the team and our guests. You will also be in close contact with colleagues from the reservations department, reception, HR...

Main tasks:

  • You coach and organise the entire team (fulltime employees, students and flexi workers)
